With employees and commercial real estate tenants desiring hyper-flexible and convenient access to unique, comfortable workplaces, Hines, the global real estate investment, development, and property management firm, has taken a leap forward to add connected access to its digital ecosystem by integrating SwiftConnect to its technology stack. SwiftConnect was chosen for its innovation in mobile credentials, market traction with major enterprises and commercial real-estate owners, and its leadership as the creator of a new category called connected access enablement.

To make it easier for tenants and employees to use their iPhone or Apple Watch to access buildings, spaces, amenities, and beyond, Hines has expanded its connected portfolio with the ability to harness employee badge in Apple Wallet, powered by SwiftConnect. This integration is designed to enable a high-quality, reliable system of mobile IDs for self-service, on-demand access to Hines buildings.

Initially, Hines is deploying this connected access solution this fall at eight buildings across five cities in North America at Salesforce Tower in Chicago; 1144 15th Street in Denver; 717 Texas Ave in Houston; the Kearns Building in Salt Lake City; CIBC Square, T3 Bayside and two buildings at T3 Sterling Road in Toronto, Canada. Hines plans to begin adding more locations later in 2023.

“At Hines, we connect people through technologies and experiences. We add value to their day by providing greater choice, convenience, and experiences. Our new, innovative digital ecosystem will eventually span our portfolio of buildings and is built to enhance people-centric experiences in the workplace, including frictionless access to everything from office space to amenities,” said Jeannie Schneider, Chief Technology Officer at Hines. “Our decision to incorporate SwiftConnect’s connected access platform into our ecosystem fits our vision to establish an open and interoperable hardware stack that enables freedom of choice at a property level, while driving a cohesive network across our entire portfolio to create a consistent, enhanced workplace experience.”

SwiftConnect makes access to building turnstiles, elevator destination dispatch, spaces and places more intuitive, easy and secure.  Powered by SwiftConnect, employee badges in Apple Wallet are provisioned from the building’s tenant experience app using SwiftConnect AccessCloud, which seamlessly brings together the building and business solutions that govern physical access. In addition to leveraging employee badge in Apple Wallet, SwiftConnect also supports NFC wallets in Android devices.
